SUNY Orange Community Orchestra thumbnail and Concept Art
Here are some of the concept ideas for the first part of my joint work with another Practicum student (also a Visual Communications major), Kevin, for the SUNY Orange Community Orchestra.
After meeting with the conductor and getting instructions on what he wanted in the flyer design, I went and created some thumbnail designs for how the flyer will appear. The bigger task for us was to find a way to have the main SUNY Orange color scheme (navy blue and orange) work together in the final design of the flyer and the logo. Originally, I planned on having the banner at the top with an orange and navy blue gradient but it did not work out well. Fortunately, I created a concept for the final logo design which was to have the "O" in SUNY Orange merge with a treble clef. Although my original design did encounter a minor issue in legibility, me and my design partner did keep the treble clef and the SUNY Orange logo idea and made it into some interesting yet legible logo designs. For one of the designs Kevin created, I adjusted the text font to make them compliment with one another.
