Cinemagraph

The inspiration for the cinemagraph came from the running water going down the drain concept. My phone camera's PRO mode settings were ISO 400, shutter 1/60, and WB 4000 fluorescent light and being that it was a video, I recorded for approximately 10 seconds before trimming and editing took place on Photoshop. The lighting was more of the everyday neutral  as it was underneath an area near the ceiling lights. but with a tint of boring as I took the video indoors due to weather. In fact, I originally wanted to go outside and make my cinemagraph of rainwater running down into the drain but did not do it because I did not want to get me or my phone wet. By the time I was about ready to save the video onto my flash-drive, I had a hard time transferring the video from my Google Drive and onto my flash-drive since it was not a jpeg photo or a photo in raw but it was an MP4 file. Fortunately enough, I was able to get it transferred to my flash-drive and brought it into Photoshop with no problem. During editing, I trimmed the video to about five seconds and masked out the running water from the water fountain in the video by following a step by step guide to making a cinemagraph. Afterwards, I saved it as both a GIF file and an MP4 video file with no problems. However, I did not edit the lighting as I believed the final product was good enough with the masking of the moving water. The water fountain in the cinemagraph was across from the Vis Com lab  and I took the video at an up close angle of the water coming out from the fountain. Although it is a cinemagraph, compositional elements include leading lines from the wall surrounding the water fountain as they also created the contrasting pattern to the smooth steel and water texture. The running water cinemagraphical element was the strongest part because the water from the fountain ran in a semi-consistent pattern. The weakest part was my struggle to keep my phone steady because it made the cinemagraphic of the water running a little shakey. In the end, I learned how to make a proper cinemagraph but I could have used a selfie stick or a tripod for my phone to keep the video portion more steady.
